Where robustness decides

When the metric becomes money or a rule — usage billing, rate-limits, abuse detection, retrieval metering — the count must resist those with an incentive to manipulate it. TRUSS is the summary that withstands the adversary.

• ▸Cardinality and frequency an attacker can't hide.
• ▸Onset of cross-subsidization (who pays whose bill) detectable.

The 3rd of the measurement trio

TUBE measures value with a bound, PLUMB measures time with an interval, TRUSS measures the count with robustness. Together: the whole telemetry — value, when and how much — proved, not estimated.

Based on adversarially robust sketches (JACM 2022), with no installable tool on the market — TRUSS is the engineering that closes that gap. Step-0 in progress.
