CLAMP · Certified queries

Answers that can't escape the truth.

CLAMP answers questions — 'how many above the limit?', 'what's the p99?', 'did it stay in range?' — over TUBE-compressed data, without decompressing, and returns an interval guaranteed to contain the true answer.

The bracket that contains the truth

Every answer comes as [guaranteed, guaranteed+possible]. The 'possible' are the samples on the ±ε edge — and that edge falls exactly where the decision lives: 0.1499 vs 0.1501 of a limit, 69 vs 70 of hypoglycemia, the cycle at the 80% warranty threshold.

Proved on real data: emission compliance [162,162] exact, flight exceedance [612,620] touching 2.3% of the file, treaty seismic detection touching 0.04%.

Why it matters

A dashboard shows a number. CLAMP shows a number you can prove — and that the auditor re-derives from the raw. That counts at the boundary where the number crosses the org's edge (customer, regulator) or time's edge (a post-mortem months later).

The pair with TUBE

CLAMP is TUBE's query engine: quantile, range, count and aggregate, all as certified brackets. Where SZ3 ties on bytes, CLAMP decides — because decompressing everything isn't an option when the number matters.
